Gypsum is a non-metallic mineral, found in rock form. It is composed of 79.1% calcium sulfate and 20.9% water, by weight.  In absolutely pure form, gypsum is white. However, gypsum normally contains impurities whose presence makes the rock appear gray, brown, pink, or even almost black. Gypsum is found in many parts of the world. Gypsum deposits lie in flat beds of about six to eight feet in thickness, and are often inter-layered with limestone or shale. Gypsum is a mineral found in crystal as well as masses called gypsum rock. Massive gypsum rock forms within layers of sedimentary rock, typically found in thick beds or layers. Rock gypsum does not have a salty taste, and it is soft. The most significant use for gypsum is for wallboard and plaster products. All modern homes use a great deal of wallboard for interior walls. Gypsum has many water which is released when exposed to extreme heat. So it is suitable to use for building materials. It is used for covering wall and ceiling. Some gypsum is used to make Portland cement, and some is used in agricultural applications. A small amount of very pure gypsum is used in glass making and other specialized industrial applications. It is used for making toothpaste, jewelry, shampoo, etc. Gypsum rock used for drilling muds and plaster of Paris that is suitable for sculpture, molds, stage and movie sets and theme parks. iran gypsum    

Iran has many gypsum mines. Because of this Iran is suitable for exporting gypsum rocks. It exports gypsum to the countries such as Oman, India, China, Iraq, Kuwait, Armenia and… Iran is the second country in gypsum mine production globally. So it has a high potential in gypsum export.
